Things to love about ECM Classika III Espresso Machine

  • ECM-61 Core Heat brew group - a modified E61 with heating cartridges built into the group, ready to brew in about 6.5 minutes and holding temperature shot after shot.
  • OLED display with a rotary encoder. Turn to navigate, press to confirm - brew and steam temperature in 1 degree C steps, no button combinations.
  • Programmable pre-infusion with separate active (pump) and passive (soak) phases, plus a shot timer and lifetime shot counter on screen.
  • One rotary valve for both steam and hot water, finished with ECM's blue accent - the same layout ECM has refined for years.

The Classika III is ECM's successor to the Classika PID, building on the same compact single-boiler formula while adding a heated brew group, an OLED interface and programmable pre-infusion.

The biggest change is the ECM-61 Core Heat brew group. Heating cartridges built into the group bring the machine to brewing temperature in about 6.5 minutes, roughly twice as fast as the previous model, so the first shot no longer means a 15 minute wait. A 0.5 L stainless boiler is deliberately small so the jump from brew temperature to steam temperature is quick, and independent PID control holds both setpoints to within 1 degree C.

Operation moves to an OLED display with a rotary encoder: turn to navigate, press to confirm, no button combinations. Pre-infusion is programmable in the menu with separate active (pump) and passive (soak) phases, and the screen doubles as a shot timer with a lifetime shot counter. The single rotary valve and wand dispense both steam and hot water.

Polished stainless is finished with blue accents on the pressure gauge and rotary valve. Like every ECM, it is designed and built in Heidelberg, Germany.

About This Espresso Machine

The ECM Classika III takes the compact single-boiler formula and fixes its one real weakness: heat-up time. The ECM-61 Core Heat brew group is cartridge-heated, so the machine is ready in about 6.5 minutes instead of 15, and the PID holds brew and steam temperatures to within 1 °C. An OLED display with a rotary encoder makes pre-infusion, temperature and eco mode easy to set - no button combos. A 0.5 L boiler keeps the brew-to-steam switch fast, and the single rotary valve handles steam and hot water. Designed and built in Heidelberg, Germany, with the 58 mm portafilter and stainless body you expect from ECM.
