Overview
This special coffee was part of Daterra's auction in 2022. It was inspired by the composer Heitor Villa-Lobos, considered the "Father of Brazilian classical music," known for fusing native Brazilian music with European classical music and African rhythms.
Daterra is one of the world-famous farms in Brazil, where coffee is produced with an inspiring commitment to quality and sustainability. All Daterra Farms coffees have been Rainforest Alliance certified since 2003, meaning the coffee is grown on farms where forests, rivers and soils are protected; wildlife is conserved; workers are paid decent wages and given access to medical care and education.
The coffee beans are of the Datopia varietal, a unique blend of eight heirloom varietals from the regions of Kaffa, Harar and Shewa in Ethiopia, brought to Daterra by the Agronomic Institute of Campinas (IAC). This varietal is known for its resilience to climate change, pests, and diseases and its unique and desirable flavour profile.Β
The producer cupping notes for this coffee are Earl grey tea, peach, apricot, brown sugar, and citric acidity.
